Liverpool Rugby Referees
CHILD PROTECTION – SAFEGUARDING POLICY
The RFU have released a safeguarding policy in relation to the welfare of children in the game of Rugby Union. You can download a full copy of the document here which is a MUST READ for all those working with under-18s in the game of rugby.
The policy includes best practice guidance covering all areas of the game including (but not limited to) training, recruitment and match days.
In addition, Lancashire Rugby have introduced their own guidance note which is intended for clubs where the referee does not have separate showering facilities following under 18 matches. This document can be found here and MUST BE ADOPTED BY ALL. Referees are instructed by the Society to be pro-active in relation to this guidance note in all Lancashire games.
Cheshire has yet to confirm their adoption of the policy however referees are asked to be pro-active in any event and refer to the RFU safeguarding policy in the absence of any separate policy by Cheshire.
